How many times have the constitutions changed in the countries of the former USSR?

This visual reflects the data related to the changes and additions made to the constitutions of the former USSR countries after gaining their independence.

Data from the Comparative Constitution Project of the University of Texas and Chicago were used in the preparation of the visual.

The review exclusively encompasses new constitutions and successive amendments and changes implemented after the countries regained their independence from the USSR. Amendments and changes made to the constitutions adopted during the USSR, even if post-independence, have not been taken into account.

When you click on each country in the visual, a window will open displaying three parameters for that specific country.

One of these parameters is the 'count of adopted constitutions,' which specifically pertains to constitutions marked as 'New' on the Comparative Constitution Project website and adopted during the period of independence.

Another parameter is the 'count of changes to the Constitution (or constitutions),' referring to changes and amendments made to constitutions marked as 'Amendment' on the Comparative Constitution Project website.

The last parameter is the 'Total count of changes' in the constitution of each state. This parameter encompasses both the number of constitutions adopted by those states after gaining independence and the overall statistics of changes made to those constitutions.
